Places You Need To See This Spring Break
Spring break is coming up! It’s time to get away from school life, away from the stressful homework and tests. It’s a perfect time to go somewhere with your family and friends. Have you decided where to go yet? Below, there are recommendations on beautiful places you must visit during the Spring season!
Keukenhof Gardens, Netherlands
Keukenhof is one of the largest flower gardens in the world. There are around 7 million flower bulbs planted, with a total of 800 varieties of only tulips! You can have relaxing walks in the gardens looking at the beautiful tulips and taking photos of them. Younger children can also enjoy their time here since there is a treasure hunt, petting farm, maze and a playground where they can have loads of fun!
There is also a guided tour where the professional guides will take you on a 60-minute tour, showing all the main highlights of the gardens. The languages of the tour are available in Dutch, English, German, French and – subject to availability – Spanish, Italian, Russian and Swedish. You will be able to hear about the history, planting techniques, flower shows and so much more.
If you are someone who doesn’t like to walk, preferring to concentrate on the tulips, then the boat trips are perfect for you! This boat trip lasts for 45 minutes and will travel through the Dutch flower landscape in silence.
Another way it to look around is by renting a bicycle! There are bikes available for rent for all ages and genders, so this is another way you can enjoy the astonishing Dutch tulip gardens.
Keukenhof is open from 21 March to 19 May 2019, so spring break is the perfect time to visit!
Jerte Valley, Spain
During spring in Jerte Valley, more than 2 million cherry trees blossom. These flowers cover the mountain sides of the Jerte Valley and make them appear white, which is something amazing to see. Tourists come from all around the world to see this astonishing sight. There are also activities such as going on biking routes, horse riding, hiking and so on while you are able to enjoy this amazing scenery. The peak of the Jerte Valley happens during the spring so don’t miss out!
Bonn, Germany
There are many places to visit in Bonn during the Spring. There are historic sites, museums, and so much more. For instance, there is the Beethoven House, which is open from 10am to 5pm You are able to put yourself in Beethoven’s shows and experience his life as you go up the floors of the house, one by one. That is a great tour that you must experience! Also, there is the Haribo Fabrikverkauf Factory, which is especially great for little kids. You can look around and buy candies at the same time. If you like museums, Haus der Geschichte der Bundesrepublik Deutschland is the perfect place! You can learn about the history of Germany during WWII. And don’t worry, if you don’t speak German then there are audio guides in English which will give you information about the museum!
