How to Stay Healthy and Fit at Home


Due to the COVID-19 Coronavirus, a majority of schools have closed in Germany and have advised the students to maintain social distancing. As health always comes first, many students are advised not to go outside and enjoy the fresh air, to avoid possible contraction of the virus. Many people are not able to go for long walks, go to the gym, etc. In this article, there are a few tips for staying healthy and fit without having to go outside. 

#1: Workout at home!

There are many videos online that you could follow in order to keep fit and healthy. Exercising for just 30 minutes a day will help you out a lot! You could break this up into three sessions – one in the morning, one in the afternoon, and one in the evening. Exercise can be as simple as walking up and down the stairs, yoga, etc – there are a lot of ways to do this! One way to make this more fun is by zooming or face-timing your friends while working out so that you can stay healthy and fit together. 


#2 Eat a well-balanced diet!

Eat lots of vegetables and whole grains. Also, choose a diet that’s low in saturated fat and cholesterol and moderate in sugar, salt, and total fat. Although it may be hard to find all the necessary resources for a well-balanced diet during these times, it is important to try your best in eating a balanced meal every day. This also includes drinking a lot of water. It is super important for your body to stay hydrated. If you don’t drink water every now and then, your body could experience dehydration, which could cause tiredness, slower brain functionality, irritability, dryness, and high temperature. 

There are many more ways you could stay healthy and fit without having to go outside, but the 2 tips mentioned above are the two main ways you can stay healthy. It is really important, especially during this time, to be more physically active at home as you are less active now than before. Remember, stay healthy and fit!!
