Chicken and turkey are good sources of stress relief. Poultry produces tryptophan, which you need to produce serotonin; a neurotransmitter that is found in your brain and stomach. This chemical not only helps with digestion, but is also associated with feelings of happiness, which can be very effective in counteracting stress.

Soybeans and Tofu are also good tryptophan providers, along with a range of other nutrients required to combat stress such as, calcium, magnesium, zinc, and omega-3.

Broccoli is also useful in combating stress as it contains a wide range of nutrients like Vitamin C. Vitamin C has been shown to reduce both the physical and mental symptoms of stress by regulating hormones and restoring balance in the body. Other sources of vitamin C include strawberries and peppers.

Although, these food are good sources for stress release and vital nutrients, they are not a permanent stress solution. But it won’t hurt you to sometimes take a break and eat a snack.
